Job summary

Hopper is seeking a senior full stack engineer to anchor HTS Assist, our agentic AI assistant for travel. You will own the realtime and voice layer end to end, building across React/TypeScript front ends, Scala and Python services, and cloud infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of software engineering experience with senior-level ownership of production systems.
• Hands-on realtime systems experience such as voice applications, WebRTC/SIP, streaming media, or low-latency products.
• Strong frontend in React/TypeScript and backend in Scala or Python, with cloud infra on GCP or AWS.
• Experience building RESTful APIs, microservices, or event-driven systems.
• Familiarity with AI coding tools and the judgment to review, correct, and own shipped code.
• Operable-systems mindset with SLAs, observability, on-call rotations, and rollback plans.

Responsibilities

• Own the voice channel end to end, including telephony and CPaaS integrations.
• Build features across the stack with React/TypeScript frontend and Scala/Python backend services.
• Design for multi-tenant scale with a single codebase configured for partners.
• Develop safety and compliance tooling including guardrails and PII redaction integration points.
• Maintain deployments with observability, alerts, and incident response.
• Mentor teammates and contribute to architecture reviews.
