Scribd, Inc. is seeking an experienced frontend/backend engineer to help reshape the core reading experience.

You will migrate surfaces from a Ruby‑on‑Rails monolith to a modern microfrontend, build new GraphQL APIs, and collaborate with Product, Design, AI/ML, and Infrastructure to deliver scalable features. You will work across Node/Go services and contribute to a shared design system while improving performance, accessibility, and discoverability.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of full‑stack development experience with React and Rails.
• Experience shipping production systems across the stack.
• Familiarity with cloud services, monitoring, and incident response.
• Strong focus on performance, accessibility, and SEO.
• Collaborative, cross‑functional team player with a focus on quality.

Responsibilities

• Migrate frontend surfaces from a Ruby‑on‑Rails monolith to a microfrontend architecture.
• Collaborate with Data/ML and Content Pipeline teams to build features and improve ingestion infrastructure.
• Create new GraphQL APIs and services in Node, Python, or Go.
• Contribute to a shared design system and improve frontend infrastructure.
• Lead improvements to search/SEO and page performance.
