Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Senior Operations Manager for our Joliet Fulfillment Center in Illinois. You will lead a team of Operations and Area Managers, drive Lean initiatives, and ensure safety, quality and exceptional customer experience across inbound or outbound workflows.

The role requires strong people development, budget management, and leadership bench strength within the FC. You will collaborate with HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT and other leaders to secure resources,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• 7+ years direct management experience in manufacturing, production or distribution.
• Experience with staffing lifecycle: interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions.
• Experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques.
• Willing to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Drives creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives and Lean initiatives to meet business plans.
• Responsible for overall safety, quality, performance and customer experience of either Inbound or Outbound operations.
• Set and clarify requirements for Operations and Area Managers; measures performance and provides feedback.
• Leverages the Operations and Area Managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas and building improvement plans.
• Shares best practices across departments, shifts and network.
• Collaborates with HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT and other Sr. Operations Managers for resources and support.
