Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Operations Manager for the Romeoville, IL Fulfillment Center. You will oversee all budgetary and people development objectives and lead a team of Operations and Area Managers to meet performance goals and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• 7+ years direct management experience in manufacturing, production or distribution.
• Experience with the full staffing lifecycle: interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and termination.
• Experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques.
• Interest in long-term career development through assignments in multiple FCs across the nation.
• Degree in Engineering, Operations or related field and MBA preferred.
• Experience with a contingent workforce during peak seasons.
• Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Drives creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives and Lean initiatives to enable their functional area and FC to meet and exceed business plan.
• Responsible for overall safety, quality and performance and customer experience of either Inbound or Outbound operations.
• Set and clarify requirements and expectations for Operations and Area Managers; measures performance and provides feedback.
• Leverages the Operations and Area Managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas and rolling them into improvement plans.
• Shares best practices across all departments, shifts and network.
• Works with HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT and other Sr. Operations Managers to secure resources for projects.
