Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Sr. Operations Manager in Detroit, MI, to oversee budgetary and people development objectives at the Fulfillment Center (FC).

You will coach and mentor a team of Operations and Area Managers, drive leadership growth, ensure performance, and foster positive employee relations to deliver results across the facility. The role emphasizes strategic leadership, Lean process optimization, and collaboration with HR, Finance, and Safety to support initiatives and resource needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of equivalent experience.
• 7+ years direct management experience in manufacturing, production or distribution.
• Experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques.
• Experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and termination.

Responsibilities

• Leads development and implementation of quality improvement and process optimization initiatives, including Lean methodologies.
• Responsible for overall performance of Inbound or Outbound operation (safety, quality, customer experience).
• Sets and clarifies requirements for Operations and Area Managers; measures performance and provides feedback.
• Leverages Managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas and rolling them into improvement plans.
• Ensures best practices are shared across departments, shifts, and network.
• Collaborates with HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT and other Sr. Operations Managers to secure resources for projects.
