Job summary

Optimum Communications Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Tech III to repair and maintain fiber and coaxial transport networks, supporting video, data, and telecom services from headend to customer equipment.

The role includes mentoring junior technicians and ensuring service quality across FTTH and RFOG architectures. The position requires DOT-related certifications, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with Design, construction, ISP, and NOC/ROC teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license in good standing and ability to meet DOT requirements.
• Ability to obtain DOT medical card and CDL where applicable.
• Ability to obtain licenses required by the state for installing/servicing security services.
• Ability to comprehend and operate testing equipment (signal level meters, ohm meters).
• BDS & BTS certification preferred.
• Fiber repair and troubleshooting experience.
• In-depth knowledge of FTTH & RFOG architecture (Rolt, Back haul, distribution).
• Experience with FTTH network tools AGORA, Netwin, Net-Q.
• Experience working with ISP or 'Hot Hands' for ISP.
• OSP Construction tasks knowledge.
• Physical demands assessment and post-offer/p re-employment evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair transport networks from headend to customer's devices.
• Maintain a unity gain network and perform FCC-required tests.
• Fulfills duties of lower level technicians as needed and supports team training.
• Coordinate and oversee training initiatives for new and existing team members.
