Job summary

Optimum is seeking a Maintenance Technician III to repair and maintain fiber and coaxial networks, from headend to customer equipment. The role supports headend electronics and critical infrastructure, performing troubleshooting across the network to exceed customer expectations.

The position requires experience with FTTH/RFOG networks, drive to mentor others, and ability to work under general supervision with safety-first practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license in good standing.
• Ability to obtain DOT medical card and CDL where applicable.
• Ability to comprehend and operate testing equipment such as signal level meters.
• FTTH/RFOG knowledge and related certifications preferred.
• Experience with FTTH Network tools AGORA, Netwin and Net-Q.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair the transport, trunk, and distribution networks from master headend to customer devices.
• Maintain a unity gain network and perform FCC-required tests.
• Fulfills duties of lower technician levels as needed.
• Coordinate with Design, Construction, ISP, NOC/ROC to resolve issues.
• Oversee training initiatives and coach team members to improve skills.
