Job summary

Optimum Communications Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Tech III in Texas to repair and maintain fiber and coax transport networks from the headend to customer devices. You will troubleshoot, perform FCC tests, and support headend electronics while mentoring junior technicians.

You will work with Design, Construction, ISP, and NOC/ROC teams to resolve escalated issues, while coordinating training and improving operational efficiency. A valid CDL and DOT medical card are preferred for this role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license in good standing; able to meet all DOT driver qualification standards.
• DOT medical card and CDL where applicable.
• Knowledge of FTTH/RFOG architecture and testing equipment.
• BDS & BTS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fulfills demand and preventive maintenance by troubleshooting and repairing transport, trunk, and distribution networks from headend to customer devices.
• Maintains a unity gain network.
• Performs FCC-required network tests.
• Performs duties of Maintenance Tech I and II as needed.
• Troubleshoots and repairs the distribution network from headend to customer devices.
• Maintains network integrity through preventive maintenance.
• Builds, troubleshoots, and repairs FTTH & RFOG networks.
• Resolves issues at installation and service calls.
• Collaborates with Design, Construction, ISP, NOC/ROC to resolve escalations.
• Oversees training initiatives and coaches team members to improve skills.
• Assists in creating training materials and best practices.
• Conducts regular performance assessments and provides feedback.
