Job summary

Optimum is seeking a Maintenance Tech III to repair and maintain fiber and coaxial networks from headend to customer devices. You will support headend electronics, perform tests, and mentor junior techs to exceed customer needs.

The role requires hands-on fiber experience, knowledge of FTTH/RFOG, DOT compliance, and ability to work with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• DOT driver qualification standards and valid CDL if applicable.
• Ability to obtain state licenses for installation/servicing security services.
• Experience with FTTH/RFOG architectures and fiber repair.
• Familiarity with testing equipment (signal level meters, ohm meters).
• DOT medical card and ongoing medical certification required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair transport, trunk, and distribution networks from headend to customer devices.
• Perform maintenance and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Coordinate with Design, Construction, ISP, NOC/ROC to resolve issues.
• Oversee training and coach team members; participate in material creation.
• Maintain network integrity and assist in installation/service calls as needed.
