Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Arlington, VA is seeking a Senior Electrical Hardware Development Engineer to architect and lead development of next-generation cloud infrastructure hardware, focusing on FPGA SoC-enabled PCBA designs.

You will drive system-level hardware architecture decisions, lead NPI with contract manufacturers, and mentor engineers in a fast-paced lab environment in Northern Virginia, with TS/SCI clearance requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in electrical engineering or equivalent required.
• 10+ years hardware engineering experience.
• Experience with motherboard and PCB design including schematic capture, stackup and layout.
• Experience with FPGA SoC hardware integration, validation and debugging.
• US Government TS/SCI clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance.

Responsibilities

• Architect and lead development of complex PCB designs with FPGA SoCs.
• Drive system-level hardware architecture decisions and requirements.
• Lead NPI processes with contract manufacturers.
• Develop and validate high-speed digital and mixed-signal circuits.
• Ensure EMI/EMC, thermal and signal integrity compliance.
• Partner with FPGA/firmware teams to define hardware interfaces.
• Lead design reviews and drive technical consensus across teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and establish hardware engineering best practices.
