Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Virginia seeks a hands-on technical leader to manage a hardware/FPGA/firmware team building high-assurance security devices for government customers within AWS.

Lead architecture, set roadmaps, and drive multi-disciplinary collaboration across systems, software, and manufacturing. You will own the full hardware lifecycle from design through production, ensuring certification, performance, and reliability while mentoring engineers to grow toward

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering and 7+ years hardware engineering experience.
• Experience with FPGA/programmable logic development and hardware validation.
• 3+ years of people management leading hardware or FPGA teams.
• Active US Government TS/SCI clearance with polygraph or commensurate clearance.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical vision and multi-generational roadmap for hardware and FPGA development.
• Make architectural decisions on platform selection, board design, and HW–SW partitioning.
• Own trade studies measuring thermal, certification, and performance constraints.
• Translate government security requirements into actionable hardware architecture.
• Lead hardware lifecycle from architecture to prototype, qualification, and production.
• Drive SI, PI, and thermal analyses to meet performance targets.
• Establish DFx principles and lead design reviews across hardware, firmware, and software.
• Mentor engineers and drive delivery quality with high standards.
