Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Electrical Hardware Development Engineer to architect and lead next-generation cloud infrastructure hardware, focusing on PCB designs with FPGA SoCs in a dedicated product development lab. You will drive hardware architecture decisions, coordinate with contract manufacturers, and validate high-speed digital and mixed-signal circuits.

The role requires a TS/SCI clearance, with polygraph eligibility, and emphasizes mentorship, EMI/EMC compliance, and signal integrity.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
10+ years hardware engineering experience.
Experience with DFx (Design for cost, test, manufacturing).
Experience in motherboard design, PCB design including schematic capture, stackup and circuit board layout.
Experience with FPGA SoC hardware integration.

Responsibilities

Architect and lead development of complex PCB designs incorporating FPGA SoCs.
Drive system-level hardware architecture decisions and technical requirements.
Lead new product introduction (NPI) processes with contract manufacturers.
Develop and validate high-speed digital and mixed-signal circuits.
Ensure designs meet EMI/EMC compliance, thermal, and signal integrity requirements.
Partner with FPGA/firmware teams to define hardware interfaces and requirements.
Lead design reviews and drive technical consensus across multiple teams.
Mentor junior engineers and establish hardware engineering best practices.
