Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. in Arlington, VA is seeking a hands-on technical leader to manage a team of Hardware Design, FPGA/Programmable Logic, and Firmware engineers responsible for high-assurance security devices for government customers within AWS.

You will own the full hardware development lifecycle from architecture to production, set the technical vision, and ensure designs meet stringent government standards and certifications. This role sits at AWS HQ2 in Northern Virginia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent is required.
• 7+ years of hardware engineering experience, including FPGA/programmable logic development.
• 3+ years of people management experience leading hardware or FPGA engineering teams.
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret with SCI eligibility or above.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical vision and multi-generational roadmap for hardware and FPGA development.
• Own hardware platform development from architecture through prototype and qualification.
• Lead design reviews and enforce hardware/firmware/software collaboration.
• Collaborate with government stakeholders to navigate certification and approve processes.
