ShipBob, Inc. is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Chicago-based finance team. You will lead transportation-focused FP&A, build forecasts, and prepare investor materials to support profitable growth.

You'll partner with the Transportation and FP&A teams to enhance margin analysis and forecasting, driving strategic projects and ad-hoc analyses as needed. This role reports to the FP&A Manager in a fast-paced startup environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance or related degree.
• 3-5 years of FP&A or related field.
• Experience with transportation/3PL preferred.
• Strong financial modeling and MS Excel proficiency.
• Ability to communicate complex financial concepts.

Responsabilités

• Complete thorough analysis on transportation initiatives each month and communicate key performance drivers and variances to plan to senior management.
• Collaborate with partners to strategize and report on weekly performance, especially related to Transportation.
• Manage relationships with Transportation team to build bottoms up forecasts and provide areas of risks and opportunities.
• Support the development and implementation of models and processes for new strategic transportation initiatives.
• Prepare the annual operating plan by engaging with the Transportation team to build appropriate plans and targets and convert this into the financial budget.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting presentations for investors and the board highlighting key business metrics, variance to budget and other relevant trends.
• Provide insightful study of key operational business metrics, develop margin analysis, and communicate findings to respective business partners.
• Utilize professional knowledge, business acumen, financial concepts, and company objectives to develop and improve models and procedures.
• Complete continuous improvement and automation in existing files and processes. Find feasible workarounds to complicated files.
• Continuously work with management to steer improvements in the company's approach to developing key strategies.
• Proactively provides solutions to business needs in creative and effective ways. Analyze and help optimize investments behind key company strategies.
• Network with stakeholders across the company to gain a better understanding of the key objectives and how you can help achieve them.
