Job summary

ShipBob, Inc. is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our fast-paced finance team in Chicago, supporting transportation initiatives, forecasting, variance analysis, and board materials.

You will partner with the FP&A and Transportation teams to drive accurate budgeting and performance insights. You will develop financial models, manage forecasts, and deliver presentations to senior management, with a focus on ship margin and cost performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance or related degree is required.
• 3-5 years of experience in FP&A or related field.
• 3PL or relevant experience in Transportation is preferred.
• Excellent financial modeling skills and understanding of financial statements.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete transportation initiative analyses and communicate drivers and variances to senior management.
• Collaborate with partners to report on weekly transportation performance and margins.
• Build bottoms-up forecasts with Transportation team and identify risks/opportunities.
• Develop and implement models for new strategic transportation initiatives.
• Prepare annual operating plan with Transportation team and translate into budget.
• Create monthly/quarterly investor and board reports with key metrics and trends.
• Analyze key operational metrics, develop margin analyses, and share findings with partners.
• Advance models and processes using financial concepts aligned with company objectives.
• Continuously improve and automate existing files and processes and find workarounds for complex files.
• Collaborate with management to improve strategic approaches across the company.
• Provide proactive, creative solutions to business needs and optimize investments behind key strategies.
• Network with stakeholders to understand objectives and how to help achieve them.
