Job summary

ShipBob is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our finance team, focusing on transportation initiatives, forecasting, variance analysis, and board materials. This role acts as a liaison between Finance and Transportation to enhance forecasting, target setting, and margin analysis.

The position reports to the FP&A Manager and requires 3–5 years in FP&A with strong Excel skills; NetSuite/SQL and PowerBI preferred. Hybrid Chicago office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Finance or related field.
• 3–5 years of FP&A or related experience.
• Hybrid schedule in Chicago office.
• Excellent financial modeling skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
• Proactive, deadline-driven and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Complete thorough analysis on transportation initiatives each month and communicate key performance drivers and variances to plan to senior management.
• Collaborate with partners to strategize and report on weekly performance, especially related to Transportation.
• Manage relationships with Transportation team to build bottoms up forecasts and identify risks and opportunities.
• Support development and implementation of models and processes for new strategic transportation initiatives.
• Prepare the annual operating plan with Transportation to build plans and targets for budgeting.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting presentations for investors and the board.
• Provide margin analysis and communicate findings to business partners.
• Develop and improve models and processes; automate where possible.
• Drive continuous improvements and strategic guidance with management.
• Network with stakeholders across the company to align objectives.
