Job summary

ShipBob, Inc. is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join a fast-paced finance team. You will forecast, analyze transportation costs, and prepare board materials to support profitable growth. You will partner with the FP&A and Transportation teams to improve margin analysis and budgeting.

You will build models, provide insights to senior leadership, and help shape strategic initiatives in a dynamic startup environment. The role is hybrid in Chicago with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or finance.
• 3PL or Transportation FP&A experience required.
• 3–5 years in FP&A or related field.
• Hybrid work in Chicago office.
• Excellent financial modeling and understanding of financial statements.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Proficient in Excel; familiarity with NetSuite, SmartView, SQL, PowerBI, Power Query preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze transportation initiatives monthly and report KPIs to senior management.
• Collaborate with partners to report weekly transportation performance.
• Build bottoms-up forecasts with Transportation team; identify risks/opportunities.
• Develop models/processes for new transportation initiatives.
• Prepare operating plan with Transportation team and convert to budget.
• Create monthly/quarterly investor and board presentations.
• Analyze operational metrics and communicate findings to partners.
• Improve models and procedures using financial concepts.
• Automate existing files and processes; implement improvements.
• Work with management to enhance strategic approaches.
• Identify opportunities to optimize investments behind key strategies.
• Network with stakeholders to align objectives.
• Additional duties as necessary.
