Job summary

Blue Origin in California is seeking an experienced software engineer to contribute to the Lunar Permanence team's flight software for the crewed Lunar Lander. You will own ECLSS software development and qualification, collaborating with subsystem teams to ensure rigorous validation and test readiness for flight.

The role emphasizes embedded real-time systems, DO-178C awareness, and cross-disciplinary coordination to advance safe, reliable spaceflight as part of a mission to enable millions

Qualifications

• BS degree in software/engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of software development, verification, and validation.
• Proficiency in C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink, and Python.
• Experience with real-time/embedded software.
• Experience with autonomy or controls flight software applications.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, new product development environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the development and qualification of software for environmental control and life support systems (ECLSS).
• Own formal validation and verification of ECLSS software applications.
• Support ECLSS model maturity, qualification, validation efforts with the ECLS subsystem team.
• Support ECLSS component testing including hardware/software integration and flight software requirements.
• Support development and verification of other crew systems on the human-rated Lunar Lander.
• Maintain requirements, support architecture and interface definitions for ECLSS or Crew Systems software components.
• Support internal or customer design reviews.
