Job summary

Blue Origin on Merritt Island is seeking an experienced software engineer to help design flight software for the Lunar Lander’s environmental control and life support systems (ECLSS) and crew systems. You will drive development, validation, and verification in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

You should have 7+ years in software development with C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink, and Python, plus real-time embedded systems experience and autonomy/flight software exposure.

Qualifications

• Minimum BS degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience software development, verification, and validation.
• Software development skills in C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink, and Python.
• Experience with real-time systems and embedded software.
• Experience with autonomy or controls flight software applications.
• Self-starting who thrives in a fast-paced new product development environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the development and qualification of software applications for environmental control and life support systems (ECLSS).
• Own formal validation and verification of ECLSS software applications.
• Support ECLSS model maturity, qualification, validation efforts with the ECLS subsystem team.
• Support ECLSS component testing as the flight software representative including hardware/software integration.
• Support development and verification of other crew systems on the human rated Lunar Lander.
• Maintain requirements, support architecture and interface definition for ECLSS or Crew Systems software components.
• Support internal or customer design review.
