Job summary

Blue Origin is hiring for a role within the Lunar Permanence business unit to design and qualify flight software for environmental control and life support on the crewed Lunar Lander. You will own validation, model maturity, and integration testing with the subsystem teams to ensure flight readiness.

The role emphasizes real-time embedded software, DO-178C/NPR 7150.2 familiarity, and a self-starting engineer who can thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative spaceflight environment.

Qualifications

• BS degree in a relevant field.
• 7+ years of software development, verification, and validation.
• Proficiency in C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink, and Python.
• Experience with real-time systems and embedded software.
• Experience with autonomy or controls flight software applications.
• Self-starting and thrives in a fast-paced development environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the development and qualification of software applications for environmental control and life support systems (ECLSS).
• Own formal validation and verification of ECLSS software applications.
• Support ECLSS model maturity, qualification, validation efforts with the ECLS subsystem team.
• Support ECLSS component testing including HW/SW integration and ensuring tests meet flight software requirements.
• Support development and verification of other crew systems on the human-rated Lunar Lander.
• Maintain requirements, support architecture and interface for ECLSS or Crew Systems software components.
• Support internal or customer design review.
