Job summary

Aurora Innovation Inc. in El Paso is seeking a Lead Fleet Operations Technician to maintain our fleet vehicles, perform OEM maintenance, and lead a team of technicians. You will collaborate across site teams on work planning, diagnostics, and repairs.

The role requires hands‑on mechanical and electrical repair, proficiency with OEM diagnostic tools, and strong documentation and communication. You will mentor staff, set daily workloads, and drive quality service while ensuring safety.

Qualifications

• At least 6–8 years OEM Technician Experience.
• At least 4 years diesel experience.
• At least 4 years of diagnostic skills.
• Valid US driver’s license.
• Demonstrate knowledge of basic workshop etiquette and communication across teams.
• Safety conscious with knowledge of general shop safety and DOT/CVSA rules.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work physically demanding shifts.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, manuals, and standard operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Mentor a team of technicians and foster a collaborative, high‑performance environment.
• Support site based team with a can‑do attitude and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Work with Vehicle Operations, Software, and Hardware on diagnostics, test plans, and revisions.
• Perform routine OEM maintenance and complex mechanical/electrical repairs.
• Document findings through processes and systems and communicate clearly.
• Take ownership and expand data or findings as appropriate.
• Drive quality service and repair work across functions and maintain a clean workspace.
• Plan daily workloads and prioritize competing tasks.
