Job summary

Aurora is seeking a Lead Fleet Operations Technician in Dallas, TX to maintain fleet vehicles, perform diagnostics, and lead a skilled team. You will collaborate with Vehicle Operations, Software, and Hardware, conducting maintenance and complex repairs while documenting findings for process improvement.

The role requires extensive OEM experience, diesel proficiency, and a strong focus on safety, with the ability to work day or night shifts and travel as needed. Hybrid on-site work is expected.

Qualifications

• At least 6–8 years OEM technician experience.
• Minimum 4 years of diesel experience.
• 4+ years of diagnostic skills.
• Valid US driver’s license.
• Strong communication across teams and safety-conscious.
• Knowledge of DOT and CVSA rules.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand frequently.
• Ability to travel as needed and work day/night shifts.
• Ability to read and interpret safety and maintenance documents.

Responsibilities

• Mentor a team of technicians and foster a high-performance environment.
• Support site-based teams with a can-do attitude.
• Collaborate with Vehicle Operations, Software, and Hardware on diagnostics and test plans.
• Perform routine OEM maintenance and complex mechanical/electrical repairs.
• Document findings and communicate through processes and systems.
• Take ownership of data and findings as needed.
• Drive quality service across functions and maintain a clean workspace.
• Plan daily workloads and prioritize tasks.
• Balance multiple tasks and manage time effectively.
• Utilize tooling to diagnose and repair base platform components.
• Develop new testing methods to address current challenges.
• Propose and implement improvements to workshop standards.
