Job summary

Stantec seeks a seasoned Fire Protection Engineer to join our team and lead complex fire protection design across design and construction phases. You will serve as a technical authority, ensuring code compliance and high-quality engineering deliverables, while coordinating with local specialists and global teams around the world.

The role requires a P.E. license in at least one US state, 10+ years of experience, and proficiency with Revit, NFPA standards, and hydraulic calculations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience.
• Fully licensed Fire Protection Engineer in at least one US state or jurisdiction.
• Experience as a Qualified Fire Protection Engineer (QFPE) on Federal projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical authority for fire protection matters on complex projects.
• Lead design of fire protection systems and related egress strategies.
• Perform calculations using standard software and manufacturer tools.
• Coordinate with architecture and other engineering disciplines.
• Support construction activities including submittals and RFI responses.
• Develop project scope, budgets, and design approaches for varied projects.
• Lead project coordination meetings and engage with clients and vendors.
• Mentor staff and perform quality assurance on projects.
