Job summary

Clark Nexsen seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to lead design and execution of fire protection systems on multi-disciplinary building projects for commercial and government facilities.

Responsibilities include developing design documents, coordinating with architects and engineers, and mentoring junior staff. The role supports a flexible hybrid schedule, with office collaboration and site visits as required.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in Fire Protection Engineering or equivalent.
• Licensed Fire Protection Engineer in at least one US state; local jurisdiction preferred.
• 4+ years as lead designer or Fire Protection Engineer on federal, state, municipal, healthcare, commercial, higher education projects; experience with Design/Build and CM at Risk.

Responsibilities

• Perform fire protection design including conceptual studies, schematics, and construction documents under supervision.
• Meet with clients to validate scope of work.
• Prepare marketing/presentation materials as directed.
• Coordinate with multi-discipline teams and supervise junior staff.
• Assist in RFI responses, submittals, and QA/QC.
• Review calculations and drawings produced by project staff.
