Job summary

Clark Nexsen, a JMT Company, is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to execute fire protection design on multi-discipline building projects for commercial and government facilities. You will work under supervision on complex tasks, mentor junior staff, and coordinate with architects, engineers, and other professionals.

The role emphasizes design development, code compliance, client meetings, and contributing to the firm's quality control and project success in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Fire Protection Engineering (ABET-accredited) or a related post-graduate degree is preferred.
• Must be a fully licensed Fire Protection Engineer in at least one US state or jurisdiction, preferably local.
• 4+ years of lead designer or Fire Protection Engineer experience in federal, state, municipal, healthcare, commercial, higher education or similar projects with Design/Build or CM at Risk experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of fire protection design services from concept through construction documents.
• Meet with clients to define and validate scope of work.
• Lead, supervise and mentor junior staff on projects.
• Coordinate with multi-discipline teams and other design professionals.
• Support bidding and construction phases, including RFIs and shop drawings.
• Ensure compliance with QC practices and project budget and schedule.
