Job summary

Clark Nexsen is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to execute fire protection design on multi-discipline building projects for commercial and government facilities. The role includes client meetings, preparation of scope and proposals, and coordination with architects, engineers, and design teams.

The position emphasizes leading junior staff, performing through design development, and providing construction-phase support while adhering to QC procedures. Hybrid work schedule offered.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited B.S. in Fire Protection Engineering; post-graduate degree preferred.
• Fully licensed Fire Protection Engineer in at least one US state.
• 4+ years as lead designer or Fire Protection Engineer on federal, state, municipal, healthcare, commercial, higher education projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of fire protection design services from conceptual studies to construction documents under supervision.
• Meet with clients to prepare and validate scope of work.
• Prepare marketing/presentation materials as directed.
• Direct and supervise junior staff and coordinate with multi-discipline teams.
• Assist in bids, addenda, and construction phase services including RFIs and shop drawings.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and ensure QC/Gray Team responses are addressed.
