Job summary

Clark Nexsen, a JMT Company, is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to lead design efforts for a range of commercial and government facilities. The role focuses on project execution across multi-discipline teams, ensuring code-compliant fire protection solutions from concept to construction.

The engineer will mentor junior staff, coordinate with architects and other engineers, and participate in proposals, design reviews, and field activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Fire Protection Engineering or equivalent.
• Fully licensed Fire Protection Engineer in at least one US state or jurisdiction.
• 4+ years as lead designer or Fire Protection Engineer on relevant projects, including Design/Build or CM at Risk.

Responsibilities

• Perform fire protection design services from concept through construction documents under supervision.
• Lead and supervise junior staff on project tasks and coordinate with multi-discipline teams.
• Meet with clients to validate scope of work and prepare proposals.
• Prepare and review drawings, specifications, and calculations for fire protection systems.
• Participate in QA/QC, respond to RFIs, and support project managers and directors.
