Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join our North America Fire Protection Engineering Team in the San Francisco area. You will lead large, complex projects and guide a team through all project lifecycle stages, ensuring on-time delivery and client satisfaction.

You will apply NFPA and building code knowledge, supervise staff, and contribute to business development. Strong writing and communication, plus Revit/AutoCAD skills, are essential; a P.E. license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience.
• Qualified Fire Protection Engineer (QFPE) on Federal projects is preferred.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in fire protection required.

Responsibilities

• Lead large, high-complexity projects from concept to delivery.
• Conduct fire/life safety code reviews and analyses.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for clients.
• Oversee design development through sketches, models, diagrams, and drawings.
• Supervise staff and mentor junior engineers to strengthen technical abilities.
• Coordinate with internal teams, owners, consultants, and contractors.
• Support business development with proposals and presentations.
• Ensure quality assurance on projects and provide project oversight.
