Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join our growing North America Fire Protection Engineering Team. You will work independently on large projects of high complexity, and lead a team through all project lifecycle phases to ensure on-time delivery.

You will assist with developing the fire engineering group, maintain up-to-date engineering tools, and pursue client satisfaction through rigorous design and coordination.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Building codes and NFPA standards
• Strong knowledge of fire suppression and fire alarm systems
• Good time management and quality control
• Experience collaborating with internal and external clients
• Strong technical writing and presentation skills
• Familiarity with MS Office, Revit, AutoCAD
• Experience with CFD modeling software (FDS/ASCOS) preferred

Responsibilities

• Responsible for large projects of high complexity.
• Conduct building/fire/life safety code reviews and analyses.
• Prepare and present technical reports and presentations.
• Engage in design development through sketches and models.
• Lead project coordination meetings with team, consultants, and clients.
• Participate in client meetings and basic cost estimating.
• Provide supervision and mentoring to staff to strengthen technical abilities.
• Perform QA/QC on projects and peers' work.
• Assist in developing new standards and specifications for the fire group.
• Develop project scope, budget, and design approach.
• Support Business Development with proposals and presentations.
• Oversee and manage multiple concurrent projects.
