Job summary
Stantec is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join our North America Fire Protection Engineering Team in Seattle/Denver. You will lead large, complex projects, review building codes and NFPA standards, develop designs, and mentor staff through all project phases to deliver high-quality consulting services.
The role requires a P.E. license, 10+ years of experience, and strong collaboration with clients and teams.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Building codes and NFPA standards.
- Familiarity with UFC preferred.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office; experience with Revit and AutoCAD.
- CFD experience with FDS/ASCOS preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead large, high-complexity projects.
- Conduct code reviews and analyses (fire/life safety).
- Prepare technical reports and presentations.
- Engage in design development through sketches and models.
- Lead coordination meetings with internal/ external stakeholders.
- Support client meetings and cost estimating.
- Supervise staff and mentor junior engineers.
- Ensure QA/QC on projects and peers' work.
- Contribute to new standards for the fire group.
- Define project scope, budget, and design approach.
- Support business development and proposals.
- Oversee multiple concurrent projects.
