Job summary

Stantec’s Buildings group is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer in Seattle, WA, to lead high-complexity projects from concept through delivery. You will review codes, develop designs, and prepare technical reports while mentoring junior staff.

The role requires PE licensure and strong CFD/Fire protection expertise, with opportunities to shape standards and contribute to business growth. You will collaborate across teams in a professional services environment, steering design development

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Building codes and NFPA standards; UFC familiarity preferred.
• Strong knowledge of fire suppression and fire alarm systems; design and commissioning preferred.
• Experience checking work for accuracy and managing time to meet budgets/schedules.
• Experience with CFD modeling software (FDS, ASCOS) preferred but not required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Revit and AutoCAD skills required.

Responsibilities

• Lead large, high-complexity projects.
• Conduct building/fire/life safety code reviews and analyses.
• Prepare and present technical reports and presentations.
• Engage in design development through sketches, models, diagrams.
• Lead project coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
• Supervise staff; mentor to strengthen technical abilities.
• Quality assurance on own and peers' projects; develop new standards.
• Develop project scope, budget, and design approach.
• Assist with business development and proposal preparation.
• Oversee multiple concurrent projects.
