Job summary

Black & Veatch Special Projects Corp. seeks a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to lead fire protection design on federal government projects, including design-build and design-bid-build efforts.

You will review and develop fire suppression, detection, life-safety, and alarm systems, coordinating with other disciplines and clients to produce coordinated construction documents, primarily for Arlington, VA assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Minimum of 11 years related work experience.
• Active engineering registration/licensure to support engineer of record.
• Ability to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction documents and apply NFPA/IBC/IFC standards.
• Lead development of construction documents for fire protection systems.
• Manage design teams to meet scope, schedule, and budget.
• Coordinate with internal/external stakeholders and clients.
