Job summary

exp Federal is an established full-service architectural and engineering firm delivering design and construction support to federal government programs. A Senior Fire Protection Engineer leads multi-disciplinary design teams to develop comprehensive fire protection and life safety packages.

Chantilly-based hybrid role requires a strong background in fire protection engineering, excellent communication, and ability to obtain a security clearance. Travel across CONUS & OCONUS is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection from an accredited university.
• Fire Protection Engineering License (FPE).
• 10+ years of fire protection engineering experience in the A&E industry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of Building and Life Safety Codes.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance; US Citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with architect and engineers to develop fire protection and life safety design packages.
• Design fire alarm and mass notification systems.
• Design fire suppression systems including wet/dry sprinkler, pre-action, and special systems.
• Design smoke control and stairwell pressurization systems.
• Perform building code and life safety code analyses.
• Investigate water supply and hydrant flow tests; assess deficiencies.
• Travel CONUS + OCONUS.
