Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to support federal construction projects at Fort Hood, Texas.

You will serve as the SME for fire and life safety systems, ensuring compliance with UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards, performing design reviews, inspections, QA, and submittal reviews. This role requires a PE license, a BS in Mechanical Engineering, at least 5 years of experience, and the ability to coordinate with government personnel and contractors

Qualifications

• Bachelor3s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum of five (5) years of Fire Protection Engineering experience.
• Familiarity with UFC 3-600-01, NFPA standards, and fire/life safety requirements.
• USACE or other federal project experience preferred.
• Experience with quality assurance, commissioning, and acceptance testing of fire protection systems.

Responsibilities

• Understand fire protection requirements related to UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards.
• Attend project meetings and coordinate with stakeholders for fire protection features.
• Perform reviews and inspections across construction phases.
• Conduct field inspections and ensure compliance with contract docs.
• Prepare technical reports identifying deficiencies and corrective actions.
• Provide guidance on facility design and fire protection systems.
• Review submittals and respond to RFIs.
• Coordinate final acceptance testing of fire protection systems.
