Job summary

Exp Federal is seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer to join our Architectural Design team in Chantilly, VA. This hybrid role focuses on designing fire alarm, suppression, smoke control, and life-safety systems for federal projects, with opportunities to collaborate across disciplines.

Ideal candidates have a BS in Fire Protection, an FPE license, 10+ years in A&E, and the ability to obtain a security clearance. Travel CONUS/OCONUS may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Fire Protection or related degree from an accredited university.
• Fire Protection Engineering License - FPE
• 10+ years of Fire Protection Engineering experience in the A&E industry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of Building and Life Safety Codes
• Ability to obtain a security clearance
• US Citizenship

Responsibilities

• Fire alarm and mass notification system design.
• Fire suppression system design including wet & dry sprinkler, foam, clean agent, and standpipe systems.
• Smoke control system and stairwell pressurization system design.
• Building code and life safety code analysis.
• Investigate existing water supply and hydrant flow tests.
• Travel required CONUS & OCONUS.
