Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to support federal construction projects at Fort Hood, TX.

The role focuses on fire/life safety systems, ensuring compliance with UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards, through design reviews, inspections, QA, and submittal reviews. The candidate will coordinate with project teams, provide guidance on facility design and life-safety features, and serve as a consultant to managers and government personnel during all

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
• Minimum five years of fire protection engineering experience.
• Knowledge of UFC 3-600-01, NFPA standards, and life-safety requirements.
• USACE or federal project experience preferred.
• Experience with QA, commissioning, and acceptance testing of fire protection systems.
• Familiarity with federal construction practices and project coordination.

Responsabilités

• Understand UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards for project work.
• Attend meetings and coordinate with stakeholders on fire protection features.
• Perform BCOES and plan-in-hand reviews applying prior lessons.
• Conduct inspections per approved docs and contract requirements.
• Evaluate work practices to ensure code compliance and safety.
• Prepare detailed reports identifying deficiencies and actions.
• Provide technical guidance on facility design and fire protection systems.
• Serve as fire-safety consultant to project managers and government staff.
• Review contractor submittals; provide technical comments.
• Address RFIs and review field changes as needed.
• Schedule and conduct final acceptance testing of systems.
• Perform QA oversight and document findings throughout.
