Job summary

Black & Veatch Special Projects Corp. seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to execute fire protection design on Federal government projects, collaborating across disciplines and with clients to deliver coordinated construction documents.

You will review, analyze, and provide solutions for fire suppression, detection, life safety, and mass notification systems, while coordinating with teams, the client, and authorities having jurisdiction to ensure compliance and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Architectural, or Fire Protection Engineering from an accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret construction documents and apply NFPA/IBC/IFC standards to design/layout.
• Lead the development of construction documents for fire suppression and alarm systems.
• Manage design teams to meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality on government projects.
• Review contractor drawings and submittals.
• Coordinate with internal/external teams and authorities having jurisdiction.
