Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Buildings Sr. Fire Protection Engineer to lead design execution for fire protection systems in facilities such as power plants, data centers, and water treatment plants. You will generate detailed specs, perform hydraulic calculations, and review drawings for compliance.

You will mentor junior engineers, manage scope and schedules, and collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to meet client priorities and business goals.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 11 years related work experience.
• Active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record requirements.
• Pre-employment onboarding requirements may include background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.
• Security clearance or ability to get one.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design execution efforts for fire protection in facilities.
• Review facility and equipment to determine fire protection requirements.
• Generate detailed fire protection specifications, P&ID diagrams, and perform hydraulic calculations.
• Review sprinkler and alarm drawings for code compliance.
• Coordinate with city and local officials and stakeholders.
