Job summary

SOLV Energy seeks a Principal Fire Protection Engineer to lead fire and life safety for utility-scale energy storage and power projects. You will shape design standards, coordinate with AHJs, insurers, and external EORs, and oversee EORs across multiple time zones.

Qualifications

10+ years of fire protection engineering experience.
Experience coordinating with AHJs, insurers, and engineers.
Knowledge of NFPA, IBC, UL standards and industry best practices.

Responsibilities

Provide expert-level guidance on fire safety challenges and risk mitigation.
Establish company-wide engineering standards and design criteria.
Lead national fire protection code committees and interface with AHJs, fire marshals, insurers, and engineers.
Oversee EORs and vendors, manage schedules and budgets, and QA/QC third-party work products.
Collaborate with electrical/SCADA teams to ensure design consistency and project efficiency.
Support design optimization for cost, performance, and constructability; assist during testing and commissioning.
