Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced Service Technician to diagnose and repair fire alarm and life safety systems at customer sites across the Cumberland County area. You will read blueprints, interpret submittals, and follow manuals to ensure compliant service and rapid fault resolution.

This role requires 5+ years in low voltage systems, NICET II preferred, ability to lift up to 70 lbs, and willingness to travel and work flexible hours including weekends.

Qualifications

• 5+ years documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety systems, Access Control, Nurse Call, and Paging systems.
• NICET II certification - Preferred
• Experience reading blueprints, submittals, and manuals.
• Knowledge of test equipment, multimeter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift 50-70 lbs and work in ladders/ducts/ceiling spaces.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose problems and perform service and repairs on electronic fire alarm systems and related building system products at customer sites.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, and manuals.
• Provide excellent customer service and communicate updates to district staff and customers.
• Organize tasks efficiently and use technical resources to complete work.
• Program fire alarm, security, and access control system panels.
• Assist in training or mentoring other service team members.
• Provide quotes and recommendations to improve facility efficiency.
