Job summary

Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, Inc. seeks an experienced accounting leader to direct monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. You will ensure GAAP compliance, manage audits and tax filings, and maintain strong internal controls across HIMSS entities.

You will mentor staff, optimize accounting policies, and oversee AR/AP, payroll, and asset reporting, partnering with executive leadership to drive financial accuracy and transparency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required; advanced degree preferred.
• CPA preferred; ten years of experience in accounting or public accounting.
• Experience managing remote teams and international operations is a plus.
• Strong accounting, analytical and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Direct accounting department activities for monthly, quarterly, and annual close.
• Ensure accurate reconciliations and financial statements for entities.
• Lead audits and tax filings; coordinate with external auditors.
• Develop and enforce accounting policies and internal controls.
• Oversee accounts receivable, payable, payroll, and asset reporting.
• Provide guidance to executive leadership on GAAP and financial reporting.
