Job summary

Electric Power Systems is seeking a Sr. Field Technician to lead field crews, manage testing and commissioning projects for substation work across diverse electrical equipment. You’ll interface with customers and engineering teams to ensure safe, efficient execution and high-quality results.

The role emphasizes advanced technical leadership, safety, project coordination, and strong communication. Travel and on-site work are required as part of project delivery.

Qualifications

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen for safety-sensitiv e position.
• Background check required and satisfactory.
• Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.
• Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead field crews in testing, inspection, maintenance, and commissioning of high, medium, and low voltage electrical equipment.
• Install, test, and maintain electrical apparatus including circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, and batteries.
• Perform complex troubleshooting and determine root cause, implementing corrective actions.
• Develop testing plans, procedures, and work scopes for electrical apparatus and commissioning.
• Prepare detailed reports and manage project documentation (test reports, discrepancies, closure packages).
• Train and mentor Field Technician levels I-III, providing technical leadership.

Electrical equipment knowledge (Circuit Breakers, LV/MV/HV, Transformers, Switchgear, Motors, PTs & CCVTs)
