Job summary

Electric Power Systems in the United States is seeking a Sr. Field Technician to lead field crews performing testing, maintenance, and commissioning of high-, medium-, and low-voltage equipment across diverse substations.

This role interfaces with clients and engineering teams to ensure safe, efficient project execution. Ideal candidates bring 10+ years of industry experience, NETA credentials, and a proven track record in safety-driven field leadership.

Qualifications

• Pass pre-employment drug screen (safety sensitive position).
• Criminal background check satisfactory.
• Ability to work overtime and travel out of town as needed.
• Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead crews in testing, inspection, maintenance, and commissioning of high, medium, and low voltage equipment.
• Install, test, and maintain electrical apparatus including circuit breakers (SF6, vacuum, LV), transformers, instrument transformers, grounding, battery systems, and switchgear.
• Perform and lead complex troubleshooting of electrical and control systems, identifying root cause and corrective actions.
• Analyze test results with solid electrical theory to validate performance and identify deficiencies.
• Consult schematics, diagrams, manuals, and resources to optimize equipment functionality and resolve issues.
• Direct repair, replacement, and maintenance to restore equipment and systems.
