Job summary

Gilbane Building Company in Albany, NY, seeks a Lead Superintendent to independently manage all field operations on a $5–$50M project. The role is on-site daily and pivotal to the project team. You will drive safety, schedule, and coordination with subcontractors to deliver value-driven results.

Ideal candidates bring 7–12 years of superintendent experience on large commercial/industrial builds, OSHA 30, and STS-C certifications, with a strong focus on leadership and problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent.
• 7-12 years of experience leading a component of work or whole project valued at $30M+.
• OSHA 30-hour certified.
• STS-C Certification.
• First Aid, CPR, AED, Stop the Bleed Training.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Directs day-to-day coordination of trade contractors to meet the project schedule.
• Develops, documents, and communicates the field work plan and changes.
• Maintains contract documents to anticipate potential problems.
• Obtains permits for construction by subcontractors.
• Leads safety enforcement and conducts contractor meetings.
• Maintains daily reports and updates the project schedule.
• Plans, coordinates, and manages jobsite logistics.
• Trains direct reports on project needs and processes.
