Job summary

Plug Power is seeking a Field Service Technician I, Lead to support fuel cell systems in customer locations. The role involves preventative maintenance, diagnostics, field retrofits, and system upgrades, with emphasis on safety and customer communication.

Requires 3+ years of mechanical/electrical troubleshooting, a valid driver's license, and ability to lift 50 pounds. Travel to sites will be frequent as part of field service duties.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent with technical electrical coursework.
• 3+ years of direct experience in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• Must possess a valid driver license, a clean driving record, and the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis unassisted.
• Knowledge of lift truck operation and applications is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and service of fuel cells at customer sites.
• Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and evaluations to maintain the fleet at a location.
• Perform specialized service procedures, including field retrofits and software/hardware upgrades to existing fuel cells.
• Provide emergency support to customers as required.
• Purchase tools, equipment, and parts for customer service and support as required.
• Coordinate with regional service reps and report on fuel cell performance and field maintenance.
