Job summary

Plug Power Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician to support our fuel cell products in electric lift trucks at customer sites. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and service including field retrofits and upgrades to fuel cell systems.

Requirements include a high school diploma with electrical coursework, 3+ years of mechanical/electrical troubleshooting, and a valid driver’s license. You must be able to lift 50 lbs and work independently with strong communication and

Qualifications

Minimum high school diploma or equivalent with technical electrical coursework.
Three or more years of direct experience in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
Must possess a valid driver license, a clean driving record, and the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds on regular basis unassisted.
Knowledge of lift truck operation and applications is highly preferred.
Dynamic interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences and stakeholders at all levels.

Ability to work independently.

Technician must provide own standard set of tools – specific fuel cell tools to be provided by Plug power.

Responsibilities

Maintenance and service of fuel cells at customer sites.
Diagnostics, troubleshooting, and evaluations to maintain the fleet at a specific location.
Field retrofits and software and hardware upgrades to existing fuel cells.
Provide on-call and emergency support service to customers as required.
Purchasing tools, equipment, and parts for customer service and support as required.
Travel as required for business needs.
Represent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Maintain safety procedures in the field and customer sites.
Complete administrative duties & documentation (incidents, service logs, inventory, site docs).
