Job summary

Rivian Automotive is seeking an experienced Senior Field Service Technician who will lead advanced diagnostics and complex repairs across service centers and remote sites. The role requires mentoring junior technicians, driving continuous improvement, and tackling challenging electrical, HV, and network issues with state-of-the-art tools.

Based primarily at a service center, travel to remote locations or production plants may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; vocational training preferred.
• 5–8+ years automotive repair with bumper-to-bumper diagnostics experience.
• HV system experience including high voltage diagnostics is expected.
• Proficient with Windows/Mac, work orders, and engineering/diagnostic docs.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics, complex repairs, installations, and inspections at service centers or on-site with customers.
• Provide high-level remote diagnostics and troubleshooting using logged data and schematics.
• Coach, mentor, and lead junior technicians; drive cross-functional collaboration.
• Use specialized diagnostic tools to resolve electrical, HV, and network faults.
• Document thoroughly and provide root-cause feedback to field engineers and leadership.
• Oversee parts operations, inventory, ordering, receiving, and billing as needed.
