Job summary

K Group Companies, a Michigan-based technology services provider, seeks a Field Service Technician II to lead installation teams in diverse environments across the United States. You will configure, program, and commission systems while delivering customer training on basic operations and ensuring high satisfaction.

The role requires advanced electrical and networking knowledge, hands-on field experience, and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years with a previous construction trade.
• Advance knowledge of electricity (high and/or low voltage).
• Hands-on/field experience from previous work experience.
• Basic telecommunication knowledge (TCP/IP, general networking, computers, VoIP, etc.).
• Ability to identify and use common low voltage cabling.
• Working knowledge of basic IT networking, configurations and IP addressing.
• Ability to read architectural drawings.
• Team management/supervisor experience.
• Previous experience completing projects within scope.
• Previous experience with service ticketing processes.
• 1+ year of previous knowledge in fire, CCTV, intrusion, emergency nurse call systems.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Must have valid US Driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Execute all Level I installer roles and responsibilities, following our comprehensive documentation.
• Demonstrate organizational skills in handling project and service tickets with prompt updates.
• Understand project scopes and service expectations and take accountability for tasks.
• Lead by delegating tasks within the team’s capabilities and foster growth.
• Mentor Level 1 installers and seek feedback for improvement.
• Maintain communication with Project Delivery Coordinators, Project Managers, and customers as needed.
• Show expertise with nurse call, card access, and video surveillance systems.
• Pursue ongoing professional development, focusing on leadership and communication.
• Perform FAT testing of products before installation to ensure quality.
• Configure and commission systems providing reliable, fully operational solutions.
• Willingly assume additional duties as needed.
