Job summary

Rivian in California (Bay Area) is seeking an experienced Senior Field Service Technician to lead advanced diagnostics and field repairs for our electric vehicles. You will diagnose complex issues, guide mobile teams, and mentor junior technicians in a fast-paced service environment.

Based at a service center with potential travel to remote sites and production plants, you will leverage high-voltage and network diagnostics, uphold quality standards, and help standardize repair processes while

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or recognized equivalency preferred.
• Graduation from an accredited automotive repair school or vocational program preferred.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to travel to regional locations or production plants as needed.
• Ability to work a 40-hour week including weekends and varying shifts.
• Ability to travel to regional locations or production plants as needed.
• State mechanic certifications where required by jurisdiction.

Responsibilities

• Advanced Diagnostics & Complex Repairs: bumper-to-bumper diagnostics and repairs at service centers and on-site.
• Technical Support & Remote Troubleshooting: provide remote diagnostics guidance and evaluate vehicle data.
• Leadership & Mentorship: coach, mentor, and train junior technicians and partners; lead problem-solving.
• Advanced Tools & Methodologies: use diagnostic tools to resolve complex faults.
• Quality & Process Standardization: conduct road tests and drive improvements across workflows.
• Parts Operations & Systems: manage ordering, receiving, inventory, and billing.
• Documentation & Technical Feedback: produce documentation and root-cause analysis.
• Customer & Cross-Functional Engagement: interact with customers and suppliers during escalations.
