Job summary

Vertiv in California seeks a senior field service engineer to supervise and train teams, perform complex electrical tests, and lead large turnkey projects such as generator tests and substation commissioning. You will develop tests, prepare proposals, and manage field scheduling and billing.

The role requires strong NEC knowledge, project leadership, and client-facing skills. Travel to sites and occasional out-of-town work are expected as part of delivering high value service.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of the National Electrical Code and industry standards (OSHA, NFPA)
• Experience with power quality surveys, generator start-up, high/medium voltage substation work
• Ability to supervise large projects and manage field teams

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train and assist field service engineers and technicians in all aspects of field service work in the area
• Perform complex troubleshooting, tests, inspections and appraisals on electrical systems
• Lead large projects including generator acceptance tests and substation commissioning
• Develop tests and inspections for new field service areas
• Prepare estimates, proposals, fieldwork plans, scheduling, reports and billing
• Write detailed project reports and process job billing accurately
• Conduct analyses for equipment-labeling projects per standards and company procedures
• Engage with clients and participate in business development activities
